Advent – Week 1, Day 2 – HOPE
“Waiting for Jesus”
Reference scriptures:
Psalm 27:14, Galatians 4:4-5, Matthew 1:1
Sometimes waiting is so difficult. Patience. Sometimes I have to search hard to find my patience. You know, the Holy Spirit gives us patience. I know, sometimes it is just hard to use it, especially when we want something really bad.
I love my family and my home and my pets, so thinking of Jesus coming back may be scary for some, I understand that. We are accustomed to our “comforts” or our “regular things” and the unknown can be scary. I want you to think of this – a place where the things that are “uncomfortable” in your life will be no more. No more sin, no more deployments, no more sickness, no more cheating, no more lies, and the list goes on. No more sin. In the presence of Jesus. Every single day. No more goodbyes. These are the things I think about when I think about Jesus coming back. Forever with those who chose to follow. Forever in His presence. That is a pretty sweet thought, if you ask me.
God sent Jesus to pay for our sins. Jesus in our place. That is the best news ever! So we wait. We wait and we expect His return. While we wait…..let’s tell others The Good News. It is so good, everyone needs to know!!!
Merry Christmas!
