Chapel- Advent – Week 1, Day 4, and Storytime – “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe”
Chapel Time with Miss Kim – December 1st
Good morning! I love Christmas and I love to celebrate Jesus!!!!
Today we had a jam-packed chapel time with our Advent Lesson and our Advent ornament and our storytime with Narnia. Here are some of the things we pointed out.
Advent: Isaac – **see our Advent tab for more information about Advent and discussion questions.
Narnia: Chapter 10 – “The Spell Begins To Break”
I love that Father Christmas is in this chapter, just as we are celebrating the first day of December. I would love to say that I planned that, but I did not. Hmmmmm, interesting how things happen, don’t you think?
The verse for today is Isaiah 52:7 – look this up and read it!!
Biblical Parallels:
1 – The others find Mrs. Beaver’s preparation a little irritating – look at what Proverbs 14:15 and 19:2 say about being prepared!!
2 – Father Christmas brings gifts that are tools, not toys. He explains to them how they are to use them. We are given tools from God through the Holy Spirit to help us use our spiritual gifts. Passages: 1 Corinthians 12:11, 1 Corinthians 12:18 & 27 & 28
Daily Challenge: “Who in our world arrived at the same time as Father Christmas?” Hint: Luke 2:1-20
Scriptures on Weapons for Spiritual Warefare:
Ephesians 6:10-18. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Hebrews 4:12
*our Biblical connections resource that we are using with Narnia is “A Family Guide to Narnia” by Christin Ditchfield
See you Friday!
