First Thanksgiving Plant-Based – And Survived!!!
Good morning my friends! I hope this finds you well and ready for Christmas now that Thanksgiving is behind us.
I survived!!! I had my first ever Plant-based Thanksgiving and it was amazing!!! It was a shock for a lot of our family. Did some things tempt me, of course. But, when I would think of the consequence and preserving the temple, the temptation went away. Also, while others were miserable after eating, I was not. I was, for the first time in my life, not overstuffed with food. I was not bloated because I had no gluten. Just veggies and fruit that God blessed us with right from Creation.
I encourage you, as we enter into Christmas, start planning now. Planning was the biggest part of Thanksgiving being a success for me. I packed my bag with my butter, my gluten-free bread, and nuts and fruit. Planning is the key. Sooo, start planning now for Christmas.
For every family gathering where there will be food, and you know there will be food, make sure you plan. Plan and take your bag. Everyone will be okay – they will get over the shock. Yes, you will hear, “what you can’t have this?”, “What do you mean no meat?” – but the questions will die down and you will be fine. The family will be fine. Who knows, they may follow your example for a healthier life!! I promise you when they see how much happier you are, how “not miserable” you are, they will be grateful too.
Hang in there! You got this!!!! Just focus on The Garden.
Love you all!!!! I am here – don’t hesitate to reach out for advice!!!!
