Job- Faithful to God – “Magician’s Nephew” Chapter 12
Chapel with Miss Kim – October 20, 2021 – Job, Strawberry, and more!
Today in Chapel we learned about Job. Job 1:1-12 is our passage that we read.
Job was so faithful to God that Satan was certain he could tear him away from God. God knew Job would be faithful no matter what, so God allowed Satan to make a mess of Job’s life. Satan told God that he would make Job curse Him to His face.
Key verse: 1 Peter 2:12
Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glory God on the day He visits us.

For “Magician’s Nephew” – Wait til you hear what happened to Strawberry! Aslan has changed him forever!!!
Jesus connection:
~Digory discovers that Aslan understands all about the grief he is feeling. He sees that Aslan is every grieving with him. Isaiah 53:3 refers to Jesus as a man of sorrows and all through the New Testament we see references where Jesus felt compassion for those suffering. In John 11:35 we read that “Jesus wept”.
~Fledge (aka Strawberry) talks to Digory about how he has no doubt that Aslan knows what they want but that he wants to be asked. Matthew 7:7 says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”James 4:2 tells us that we have because we do not ask.
**Challenge**
the Bible tells us that there were many times when people had an encounter with God and he changed their names. What examples can you find?
(Hint: Genesis 17:5, 15-16, 32:28, and Matthew 16:17-18)
