WHAT IS THE BIBLE?

SUNDAY EVENING 628, 2/21/21

Well, of course, it is The Truth.  God’s Word.  Let’s dig in together.

This past Sunday we watched the video below (I encourage you to watch it if you have not).  This video helps us to see how we got to where we are with The Bible today.  There were/are many “versions” and translations along the way.

We often get overwhelmed with all the history of how the Bible came through to us what the Protestant movement to give us the Old Testament and the New Testament.  Hear me when I say this, all of the histories is important and you absolutely need to understand it, but when you start to read about all of the “extra books”, please do not let that be a distraction from knowing what we trust and believe to be the truth.  The Truth.

We did a study a while back in The Attic called “World Religions and Cults”.  I encourage you to check this out, at least volume one, if you want to know more about the Catholic “extra books” and other religions. There is so much to learn, and this is a great resource to help you with that.  This is the link below and I am certain you can find it on Amazon as well.

Our focus of this study is to read through the Bible and focus on The Gospel Truth and to know God and to make Him known.  We may look back around to one of those other studies eventually, but let’s stay on track with our mission to read through The Bible for now.
