When You Just Don’t Know What’s Ahead…

Isn’t it just mind-blowing how things happen? How God always goes before us and knows what is ahead? Then when we get to where we are headed, we find things way different than we imagined?!?!?!

I’ve been doing some mountain driving the last few days and on a lot of roads where you top the hill, but you have no idea what is on the other side. You top the hill with no idea what to expect. Talk about a roller coaster ride! The difference is, you decide how quickly to top the hills.

Life

Life: it is just like that ride, topping the hills. The ups and downs! And just when you think it’s all downhill, you hit the mountaintop and wait for what’s on the other side. Sometimes you see what’s coming, sometimes you have no idea. That’s where you have to throw your hands up, roller-coaster style, and just trust God for what is coming and trust that He has you, the complete ride. He never lets us go, we just have to throw our hands up and trust.

Think about those fishermen all those years ago. They had no idea what was ahead. They didn’t pack up and prepare ahead, they just dropped their nets and followed Him. They had no idea what was “over that mountaintop”, what was ahead on the other side, but they went. Completely unaware of what was going to happen or how their lives would be changed.

Let Go. Let God

So, my thought for today is, without you knowing what God has on the other side of that hill you cannot see over, are you willing to throw your hands up, roller-coaster style, and just follow Him? Completely trusting Him for the outcome? Dropping your nets and just going? Going without hesitation even though it’s breathtaking? See, here is the thing, if we just let go and trust, our lives can be transformed just like the disciples, even with the ups and downs! We just have to decide to throw down the nets and go with Him, totally abandoning our control of life and trusting Him, no matter what’s next. He knows and He goes before us. We just need to let Him have the lead. Life is sooooo much better when we trust His way, not ours.

So throw your hands up and trust Him! Decide today, if you have not already, to give up everything you cling onto so tight that it becomes more important than God, and live completely FOR God and completely TRUSTING God. Oh how exciting is the ride!!
