Zoomerang SBA 2022 – Wow What a Week!!!

Hello everyone! It has been a while since my blog has been updated, but for good reason!!! I took a few weeks off to work in a local mission outreach that our church does called Summer Bible Adventure.  It is the Cape Carteret Baptist Church version of Vacation Bible School.  See, our Pastor, Kevin Clubb, came to Cape Carteret many years ago and taught our community a new way to hold an outreach that is more than just VBS, but a true adventure in God’s Word! We decorate big time as a way to show the kids they matter.  We have a rocking rally time, so that they can “raise the praise”, we feed the kids and leaders, and we spend the week digging in God’s Word, teaching the kids that come God’s Truth.

We have such an amazing group of volunteers.  This year we had a record number of volunteers and I believe more than ever that took vacation to be able to be present both morning and night.  We host our younger kids in the morning and our older kids in the evening.  Our total enrollment for the week with kids and volunteers was 816.  Biggest.  Group.  Ever!!!

I want to also give a shout out to our youth leaders.  We had a huge group of teens who came to serve.  We even had some who served in the morning as helpers and attending in the evening as 5th graders.  My Middle School and High School groups really stepped up and they are so helpful!! They worked hard all week, understanding that this was their “at home ” mission trip for the summer.  I am so very thankful for every single one of them.  I am well aware that they could have been so many other places, but they were here, serving with us to help younger kids grow in their relationship with Jesus.  So very amazing.  Makes my Mama heart so proud!!!

This year, we had a first with an amazing Security Team! They were an awesome team and kept us safe!!! I also want to give a shout out to our local PD, Cape Carteret Police Department, who kept an eye out all week for us, and also for the Carteret County Sheriff’s Department, as they came by several times to check in on us! What a great community we live in!!! So thankful for those who serve to protect us!!! Thank you!!!

I also need to give a shout out Carteret County Schools! They fed our kids all week – and it was amazing!! I am so thankful for the county and how they provided for us through their summer feeding program for kids!!!! Thank you!

We also had a few food trucks that came to be available for parents and volunteers.  I appreciate them so much! It make it so nice to be able to step outside and get a coffee or a bagel or a yummy smoothie or sandwich.  So thankful for those who were here for us all week:

We had 50 kids profess their faith in Jesus this past week!!! It was so amazing to be a part of something so moving and so covered by the Holy Spirit!!!! Yay God!!!

We had over 20 people baptized on the beach on Sunday! Yay God!

Can I tell ya, I am still walking on Sonshine!!!! God is always here and wow, did He show up big time last week!!!! All the praise and all the wonderful things are because of our Creator God.  I am so thankful that He allowed me to be on the Crystal Coast last week to just breathe Him in as He worked in the lives of so many people.
