Are You As “Done” As I Am?

Hey, y’all. I know it has been a while. I hope this finds you all well.

I am just wondering, are you feeling just “done” with all this world has going on right now? It seems many of us are hitting a wall and are just ready to be over it. Can I get an Amen?!

Take a deep breathe, because we don’t just get to “be done”. Truth is, we get the opportunity to imitate. That is the word that I have been given today. Over and over. Imitate. We are to imitate Jesus. We are made in the image of God and we are to imitate Jesus in the way we love, live, see, think, and hear. Imitate.

I was really sinking into the pit of despair today of what to do next, how to connect kids and families, how to connect students, and then I kept getting this word ~ Imitate. It kept coming up in chapel this morning and it has come up in my studies, videos, and reading all day, so I felt this unsettling urge to get online and send you all this. I am certain I am not the only that needed to hear this today.

Imitate Jesus

Ephesians 5:1, ESV

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.”

Have we been? Are you spending time alone with The Father? Are you reaching out to serve? Are you praying for those around you in need of prayer? Are you loving others like never before, like Jesus?

When we just don’t know what to do or think or even feel in all that is going on in this world today, just think those two words for a minute. Imitate Jesus. Then act. Imitate Him. I assure you it will help you to refocus. If it doesn’t, shoot me a message and I will be glad to pray with you and help you climb out of that pit. Do not stay in the pit – get out and imitate. Be like Jesus.

He met many struggles. He suffered as part of His journey back to The Father. If He endured all that He did and did it all for us, then we should pick up our chins and imitate Him. Endure. Stay strong. Finish strong. Tell Satan to go away. Seek God. Love your enemies. Pray. Encourage. Equip. Love. Love Big. Help. Serve. Reach. Repeat over and over.

Imitate Jesus.
