Hey everyone! Some of you may have received a similar message to this in your inbox, so if you are reading this for the second time, I apologize. I just want to be sure I get the love spread around to everyone!!
I Applaud You
I have no doubt that you all have gotten into somewhat of a new “temporary normal” in this time of staying home. I know you have probably, by this point, figured out your schedule (somewhat) and are getting into a new groove of daily life. I also realize that for some of you, you have quickly become school teachers, Sunday School (Life Group) Teachers, Counselors, and Play Friends, among many other things. I applaud you!! I know this transition has had its ups and downs, so thank you for the way you have taking it all on!!
We’re All In This Together
I also know that by this time, the walls are beginning to close in for some and the constant questions from the kiddos can be taxing. Some days seem to be longer than others, and you feel adult conversation may never happen again. I hear you!!! I know that some days, there are moments that you just need to hide in the closet and have a minute! I get it!!! I know that even the most “got it together” parents have moments like this, it is true! So…. you are not alone and you are absolutely normal!! Congrats! Something is normal in your home!! Ha!!!
I want to encourage you that while you may feel this will never end, “this too shall pass.” I want you to memorize Psalm 23, or several verses for that matter, to have on hand. Scripture helps you calm down, you know in those moments when you just need to walk away for a few minutes. It is our Sword of The Armor of God, so use it to fight through those moments of unrest!! Reciting scriptures in my moments of distress is always helpful!!!
Psalm 23
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Chapel Time
I also want you to know that I am here for you. Maybe you have not been doing chapel at 9 am on FB live, and that is okay; but know it is there so if you need to put the kids in front of Chapel Time for a few minutes, it is there all the time and you might get a few minutes to breathe if they are watching or you may decide to jump in and sing along with us! Whether at 9 or later in the day, please use it as a resource for them to hear The Bible, have fun, and sing some songs, and for you to have a minute to breathe. I am also posting a few activities so that you do not have to search for them and they are in the comments of the current chapel day’s video on FB. This is all on my wall on FB, so friend me if you have not already. I am trying to incorporate some activities for both younger and older kids.
Also, please know that I am here for you. If you need an ear just to vent to, or cry with, or laugh with, I am here for you. I am here for your kiddos too!! Please feel free to let them call or face time or Marco Polo anytime! I will be happy to hear from them and this too may be a way for them to be occupied for a few minutes while you get something done or just take a break.
I’m Here For You
You are never a burden and I always have time for my people!
Just know that I love you all and I am here for you. If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to call. Please know that you are never a burden (as people say that all the time) and I always have time for my people!! Always!! So please, message me if you want to connect. Also, please feel free to schedule some time for the kids to FaceTime or Skype with me. I would love to be able to talk to you all one to one, not just in chapel!! I think they would enjoy seeing a familiar face from church too!! You can message me or email me to set up someone to one time for you and/or the kiddos! Anytime!!
Take care, stay home, and stay safe. Do not let your guard down too soon!! We want to be as safe as possible so that this time of “stay in place” can all end and we can be together again!!!
Love you all!
Miss Kim (aka “Mama Kim”)
